The new year in Anchorage started off with a big effort to remember Dale Tran, a community leader who passed away unexpectedly in 2017.
Tran, the chief financial officer at Kaladi Brothers Coffee, was often the face of the annual Day of Giving, where baristas work for tips and coffee sales are donated to a local nonprofit. This year, thousands of people bought a beverage from Kaladi Brothers Coffee. With matches from partners like GCI, they raised $60,000 dollars for AWAIC.
Kaladi Brothers Coffee called the response “heartwarming” and an “affirmation that our community is full of great people.”
