Whether you’re heading to Juneau for business or pleasure, there’s now a website that calculates how you can offset your carbon impact.
Renewable Juneau, a nonprofit promoting clean energy, launched the Juneau Carbon Offset Fund in June of 2019. Using the website, travelers to Alaska’s capital can calculate individual travel components, such as flight travel, tours and activities.
Then, travelers can either make a general donation or “buy” the pre-calculated offsets that line up with their carbon use. The website also calculates yearly use.
Funds raised by the offset support a heating upgrade program in Juneau for eligible families.
