Tips for a More Energy-Efficient Home

Becoming more energy efficient saves money but can seem daunting. You can cut costs without making huge lifestyle changes.

First: seal those cracks! Winter here is cold. Don’t overwork your heater by letting air escape to the frigid outdoors. Check the attic and windows, and keep the warm air inside! Second, let there be (less) light. Do you really need those high-watt bulbs in the closets? Use lower-watt bulbs wherever you can.

Third, no more blowing hot air! If your laundry dryer isn’t full, hot air is blowing straight outside. Keep it inside and keep your clothes dry.
